Through ten original songs, I’ve tried to capture some of those people, places, experiences, and emotions that make the Mississippi Gulf Coast unlike anywhere else. Some of these stories are drawn from life, others from imagination, and a few fall somewhere in between. But all of them share a common thread: the spirit of the Coast. Musically, the album wanders through Americana, folk, blues, and the many influences that have shaped my life as a songwriter and performer. Like the Coast itself, it doesn’t belong to any single category.
